Egypt’s Minister of Foreign of Affairs Sameh Shoukry and his Omani counterpart Bader Al-Busaidi have participated in the third session of the joint Egyptian-Omani Business Council.
In this regard, the foreign minister noted the active role played by the council during the past period in supporting efforts to increase the volume of joint investments between the two countries and in anticipating the opportunities for cooperation available in the areas where both sides enjoy.
Furthermore, he praised the efforts of the two sides towards bringing the economic and trade relations between the two countries to the desired level that reflects their real capabilities and fits with the distinguished political relations that have long brought them together.
Minister of Trade, Industry, and Investment Promotion of Oman, Qais Al-Yousef, also joined the meeting.
The Egyptian foreign minister called on the Omani private sector and Omani businessmen to strengthen and increase their presence in the Egyptian market, especially by maximising Omani direct investments in Egypt.
He called for benefiting from the giant economic development projects implemented by the Egyptian state at the moment, which provide many and varied opportunities for investment in various fields, especially in light of what Egypt has achieved in terms of economic reform and improving the investment environment.
The Foreign Minister also expressed his aspiration that the Joint Business Council, which includes Egyptian and Omani economic foundations, will support government efforts aiming to boost the development engine in both countries.
