Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat and Governor of Beni Suef Mohamed Ghoneim paid an inspection visit to the technology zone in New Beni Suef city.
During the inspection tour, Talaat discussed with officials of the Technological Zone the possibility of establishing a centre for technological innovation within the zone.
The technology zone in Beni Suef includes the outsourcing building, the citizen service building, the training building that houses the Faculty of Engineering at Al-Nahda University, and the companies building.
The technology zone in Beni Suef offers a number of activities, including providing a number of programmes and initiatives launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology with the aim of empowering groups of Egyptian society and qualifying them for digital transformation within Egypt’s digital strategy.
It also includes programmes offered to hone young people’s skills in various ICT disciplines and develop youths in different fields by teaching them life development skills and e-marketing.
The technology zone in Beni Suef also provides activities to support the outsourcing industry by providing training courses for the development of young people in various languages, such as English and German, as well as motivating young people in the field of entrepreneurship through training programmes, incubation programmes, and accelerators, in addition to organising training sessions and workshops with many local and international industry leaders from various fields to impart expertise to young people.
It is noteworthy that the project to spread technology zones in the governorates is one of the pioneering national projects adopted by the ministry and implemented by the “Silicon Oasis for Technological Zones” company, which undertakes the development of technology zones and promotes them to attract investments.
During the visit, the minister opened three post offices in the governorate after developing them and providing them with the latest systems and technological solutions to provide all financial, postal, and governmental services to citizens.
Talaat also inspected the Samsung factory for the manufacture of educational tablets located in the Kom Abu Radi industrial area in the Wasta Centre in Beni Suef and witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding to promote digital community development for the citizens of the governorate.
