Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry received on Tuesday a phone call from the new Cypriot Foreign Minister, Ioannis Kasoulides, as part of the close relations between the two friendly countries.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafiz said that Shoukry congratulated his Cypriot counterpart on assuming his post and invited him to visit Cairo.
Shoukry also expressed his desire to work jointly to continue to push forward the close relations between the two countries, which would enhance the continuation of cooperation in various fields.
Furthermore, the two ministers agreed on the importance of promoting regional stability, especially in the Mediterranean region.
The call also dealt with the exchange of views on all regional issues, where Shoukry presented Egypt’s efforts in this regard.
The two ministers agreed to continue the pace of coordination and consultation on issues and files of mutual interest.
