President of the Wafd Party and member of the House of Representatives Bahaa Abu Shoqa submitted his candidacy papers on Saturday for the presidential elections of the Wafd Party for 2022.
The committee supervising Al-Wafd Party’s leadership elections in 2022 began early Saturday to receive candidacy requests for the party’s leadership elections that will be held on 11 March.
A committee was formed to receive nominations under the chairmanship of Deputy head of the party Eid Heikal; the party’s Assistant General-Secretary, Kazem Fadel; Editor-in-Chief of Al-Wafd newspaper and member of the Supreme Committee Wagdy Zain Al-Din; and the party’s Financial Director, Ayman Mohamed Sayed; with the participation of the Party’s General-Secretary and Committee Rapporteur Fouad Badrawi.
The committee held a meeting on Friday evening, during which it took a number of decisions regarding applying for candidacy in the elections.
It also discussed the outlines of preparing for the election process, starting with receiving requests for candidates, passing through preparation for the electoral process, receiving members of the delegation, and working to provide them with all means of comfort to vote democratically, as well as the process of supervising the voting process and announcing the result.
