President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi asserted that Egyptian-Kuwaiti cooperation is a mainstay for achieving regional stability and a major pillar of Egyptian policy.
Al-Sisi’s remarks came during his meetings on Tuesday with Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace in Kuwait in the presence of delegations from the two countries.
Al-Sisi thanked the emir for the warm reception and hospitality, stressing Egypt’s keenness on achieving the stability and security of Kuwait and all Gulf countries in the face of internal and regional challenges, stated Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
The president also emphasised Egypt’s desire to strengthen and diversify the frameworks of bilateral cooperation and find ways to push the relationships to broader horizons in various political, security, economic, and commercial fields.
Meanwhile, Emir Nawaf Al-Sabah praised the close and historical ties between the two countries, expressing his appreciation for Egypt’s efforts in supporting Kuwaiti affairs at all levels.
Furthermore, the prince hailed the Egyptian community’s contribution to the construction and development process in Kuwait in various fields, emphasising Kuwait’s keenness to strengthen the bilateral cooperation frameworks with Egypt, specifically by increasing Kuwaiti investments in Egypt.
He also praised the prominent Egyptian role in strengthening the mechanisms of joint Arab action to face the current regional crises, which he described as a model to be followed in maintaining stability and advancing economic development and social conditions in the Arab world.
Additionally, the two sides reviewed the existing efforts to combat terrorism and extremist ideology and spread a culture of tolerance and moderation at the regional level.
In this context, it was emphasised the need to continue coordination to confront regional challenges and to achieve the aspirations of its people.
Earlier on Tuesday Al-Sisi met with Crown Prince Mishal Al-Sabah, in which Al-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to enhance cooperation with Kuwait at various levels to consolidate security, stability, and development, in addition to fostering coordination with Kuwait in order to achieve development in the Middle East.
Moreover, the Kuwaiti Crown Prince welcomed Al-Sisi, stressing Kuwait’s appreciation for the Egyptian leadership and people in light of the depth and strength of the deep-rooted historical relations and ties that unite the two countries.
Furthermore, the crown prince said that Kuwait is keen to strengthen cooperation with Egypt at all levels and periodically consult and coordinate with it on various issues.
He also hailed Egypt’s pivotal role as a fundamental pillar for the security and stability of the Arab world, asserting Egypt’s keenness to strengthen solidarity among Arab countries and push forward joint Arab action.
Rady added that during the meeting, both sides exchanged views on regional issues of common interest, and it was agreed to continue exerting joint efforts to enhance cooperation and coordination to confront the growing challenges and threats to the Arab region’s security and stability.
