The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) warned of sand and dust storms as a result of heavy rain and wind that are expected on Wednesday.
The EMA said in a statement that there is a state of instability in weather accompanied by rains of varying intensity with a decrease in temperatures, and wind activity that may blow sand and dust in some areas, including Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, Alexandria, the North Coast, northern Upper Egypt, and South Sinai, from Wednesday evening until Friday
Manar Ghanem, a member of the Media Centre of the EMA, advised citizens to wear heavy clothes and take all necessary preparations and measures to reduce the effects of getting sick over the next three days.
She also warned citizens not to stand on Wednesday under billboards due to the wind activity or walk and stand under objects or structures that may collapse.
Light to medium intensity rainfall is also expected in the evening, with a chance of escalating into a thunderstorm over southern Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, and South Sinai.
Temperatures in the governorates of Greater Cairo will reach highs of 21C and will drop as low as 10C, however, the country’s west will witness moderate weather.
