Egypt condemned in the strongest terms the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted the Iraqi city of Erbil with a series of ballistic missiles in the early hours of Sunday morning, which resulted in some material losses.
Egypt reiterated its condemnation of these despicable acts and its full support for Iraq and any measures it takes to protect its security and stability.
The counter-terrorism agency in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq announced earlier on Sunday that 12 ballistic missiles targeted the capital of the region and the US consulate there, adding that the rockets were launched from outside the borders of the Kurdistan region and Iraq, specifically from the east.
“The target of the attack is not yet known — whether it was the US consulate or Erbil airport,” the agency said.
