Catalyst Partners to launch investment fund with target capital of EGP 1bn

The Insurance Holding Company, Misr Insurance, Misr Life Insurance, the Misr Finance and Investment Fund, Banque du Caire, Post for Investments (PFI), and Attijariwafa Bank join forces to launch the Catalyst Capital Fund with a targeted capital of EGP 1bn over five years on 22 March.

The fund will invest in closed-end companies categorised as small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) according to the Central Bank of Egypt’s (CBE) guidelines in this regard.

The fund aims, under the guidance of the UNDP, to provide technical support to investees to adopt impact investing principles, aligning with Egypt’s 2030 Vision to achieve the 17 sustainable development goals.

As per the agenda of the event, the distinguished keynote speaker will be Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al Mashat.

Furthermore, the two main founders of the fund and supporters of the initiative Basel Al-Hini — the Chairperson of the Insurance Holding Company — and Sherif Raouf — the Chairperson of Egypt Post — will also be keynote speakers. UNDP

Additionally, Resident Representative Alessandro Fracassetti is set to also weigh in on the fund’s initiative.
