The General Secretariat of the Arab League (AL) announced on Monday that its Secretary-General, Ahmed Aboul-Gheit, arrived in Dubai to participate in the World Government Summit and a number of accompanying events from 28 to 30 March.

The Secretary-General attended on Monday the first session of Climate Week in the Middle East and North Africa, which aims to provide a regional platform for governments, organisations, and all partners to discuss the climate situation in the Arab region and explore the best strategies and practices that would strengthen efforts to combat climate change and maximise the use of available resources to achieve development goals.

Aboul-Gheit then participated in the opening of the fourth International Forum on Entrepreneurship and Investment, which is being held under the auspices of the AL and jointly organised with a number of parties. The forum includes a number of events aiming to encourage investment in the Arab region and create appropriate ecosystems for entrepreneurship and innovation.

On Tuesday, the secretary-general is expected to participate in the opening of the World Government Summit and will speak in a dialogue session dealing with the future of alliances in a changing world.

He will then inaugurate the work of the Arab Government Administration Forum, which is organised by the Emirati government in cooperation with the Arab Administrative Development Organisation, and then conclude his visit by awarding prizes in the second edition of the Arab Rally for Entrepreneurship.

The AL and its specialised organizations periodically participate in holding a number of events within the activities of the World Government Summit in partnership with the Emirati government.
