Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi followed up on the development of several national projects for agricultural production and land reclamation, especially in the regions of Toshka and El-Dabaa.
This came during a meeting on Saturday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Transport, Kamel El-Wazir, Head of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, Ihab El-Far, and Head of the Financial Affairs Authority of the Armed Forces, Ahmed El-Shazly.
According to a statement from the official spokesperson for the presidency of the republic, the meeting also dealt with the national projects in the governorates of Beni Suef and Minya, where the president was briefed on the details of the current and future stages of those projects, including the infrastructure and logistics of roads and axes, the provision of water rations.
Al-Sisi was also briefed on the implementation of the most appropriate modern irrigation methods, and electrical power supplies, within the framework of the state’s strategy aimed at increasing the proportion of agricultural land at the level of the republic, which helps to develop the agricultural production sector and related matters.
The strategy includes food and agricultural industries, and aims to contribute to achieving self-sufficiency in strategic crops, as well as opening export horizons, which enhances the role of the agricultural sector in supporting the national economy, and helps provide tens of thousands of job opportunities for citizens in various specialties.
