The Chamber of Information and Communications Technology Industry (CIT) announced on Monday that the seventh Digital Nation Conference — which will be held under the theme ‘The Era of Digital Transformation’ — is scheduled to run from 10 to 20 June.

It added that the conference will be held under the patronage and presence of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat at the Intercontinental Hotel in City Stars.

This step comes as a continuation of CIT’s efforts to consolidate the principles of digital transformation in various main sectors in the country while enabling local companies to learn about all global changes in the field of information and communication technology, and to monitor the requirements of various industries and sectors to meet their needs and catch up with the locomotive of digital development as per the state’s directives.

It is expected that the seventh session of the annual conference will witness the participation of a number of delegations from African countries to learn about the export opportunities Egyptian companies can offer to the rest of the continent.

The conference will also host Arab countries that will present their experiences and success stories in digitisation with the aim of opening new horizons to specialised Egyptian companies to identify modern trends and achieve sustainable development.

Commenting on this statement, Khaled Ibrahim — Chairperson of the CIT — said: “We are betting on the seventh edition of the annual conference, which — over the previous sessions — was able to contribute to consolidating the cornerstone of digital transformation in the country and developing local demand by providing an opportunity for specialised companies to learn about the requirements of different sectors and linking government trends and mechanisms for implementing smart management of the business sector.”

“The seventh session will also witness a review of the future vision of the Chamber’s Board of Directors and its role in supporting the local industry,” he added.

“The most prominent features of the seventh session of the annual conference will focus on shedding light on export opportunities to the rest of the continent, which is one of the promising markets for Egyptian companies, especially since they have many competitive experiences that qualify them for regional expansion.”

It is worth noting that the seventh annual conference will include a number of events, most notably an exhibition of technological solutions to display the products of local and international companies; in addition to the sixth annual conference on information security and data protection; the fifth annual forum for financial inclusion, e-commerce, and digital payments; the second edition of National Innovation Day; and a number of workshops and discussion sessions on the latest global technologies.
