The international trade fair for wastewater and water treatment technologies -WATREX Expo 2022 kicked off on Sunday with the participation of more than 120 international and local companies.
Abdel-Kawy Khalifa, former minister of water and wastewater utilities, and the ambassadors of Thailand, the Netherlands, Hungary, France, Japan, South Africa, Uganda, Rwanda, and Finland attended the opening ceremony.
The fair came in line with the state’s policy at the present time, and the Decent Life initiative. Additionally, the EXPO is a real opportunity to localise water technology inside Egypt.
After the opening, the ambassadors inspected the exhibition pavilions, especially pavilions of international companies participating in the exhibition. They confirmed the quality of local products represented in water pumps and water pipes, highlighting that Egypt has reached a great position in the field of water technology.
The organising company explained that the WATREX Expo is the largest exhibition specialising in the field of water and wastewater technology, namely sewage, industrial and agricultural sewage, as well as water desalination, purification and wastewater treatment technology.
The company pointed out that about 120 international and local companies participated in the exhibition, representing major international brands in the field of water and wastewater technology.
It also stated, “The new edition of the exhibition is distinguished by the participation of companies involved in execution of national projects, especially companies that operate in Hayah Karim initiative. The initiative is a real shift for the rural population from darkness to light, as this project will contribute to the delivery of drainage systems and all necessary services for the rural population, after the rural population suffered from neglect during the past ages.
The exhibition is being held on an area of 20,000 sqm at Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) and is the largest platform for manufacturers and importers to gather with a broad base of consultants and executive engineers for mega and private projects.
The exhibition has allocated about 16 international pavilions representing major companies working in the field of water and wastewater technology, in addition to being the largest and first specialised exhibition in the field of water contracting in Africa and the Middle East. Besides, the expo represents many sectors, including purification and desalination plants and treatment of wastewater, and pipes and tanks sector, water filters, electricity sector, automatic control panels, infrastructure, contracting and construction sectors.
