Ministries of agriculture, industry assigned to launch sustainable projects with UAE, Jordan: Madbouly

The meeting of the Supreme Committee for Economic Performance, headed by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, witnessed a review of the most important tasks and assignments entrusted to various ministries during the coming period.

Madbouly assigned the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation to immediately start coordinating with the Ministry of Industry to implement the projects required within the sustainable industry initiative between Egypt, the UAE, and Jordan, and to identify projects based on several crops, including vegetables, fruits, dairy, and livestock.

He also directed studying the implementation of the sustainable agriculture initiative and identifying the projects that will be included in the initiative, whether private sector projects or national service, including new land reclamation projects and the exploitation of reclaimed areas, with the identification of private sector companies with suitable financial solvency to enter the initiative.

The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of Trade and Industry to finalize the development of the Egyptian industry strategy, and to identify incentives for the targeted sectors to deepen the local industry and increase exports, with the immediate start of identifying projects to be implemented immediately within the sustainable industry initiative with the participation of the relevant ministries, in addition to submitting the auto industry strategy for discussion. With the Federation of Industries and Automobile Manufacturers to apply it as soon as possible, and the continued focus on the file of offering industrial land.

At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister confirmed that he will periodically follow up on the implementation of these tasks, expressing his readiness to intervene regarding coordination between the various ministries, to overcome any obstacles, or facilitate and solve any problems; With the aim of accelerating the implementation of these tasks, which will achieve our goal of increasing the participation of the private sector in economic activities, deepening the national industry, increasing exports, as well as increasing foreign exchange sources.
