Al Ahly SC has set a special budget for the upcoming summer transfer window, amounting to EGP 250m. The club could not allocate more money because of the financial crises the club is experiencing in the current period, and the need to fulfil many obligations like employee salaries and the construction of three branches of the club.
Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president, and in agreement with Al Ahly Football Company headed by Yassin Mansour, rejected the idea of increasing the financial ceiling for the first team’s contracts for the new season.
Al Ahly currently negotiate with more than one player in the Egyptian Premier League, including Nigerian striker, John Ibuka, Ahmed Atef, the forward of Future FC, and Mohamed Sobhi, the goalkeeper of Pharco FC. The club is also negotiating with Algerian ES Sétifienne to sign midfielder Ahmed Kandoussi during the upcoming transfer window.
Cairo giants also admire Mostafa Fathi, the player of Saudi Arabia’s Taawun FC, and seek to sign him.
Meanwhile, Al Ahly’s Moroccan defender Badr Banoun will undergo a new rehabilitation programme for one week to restore his physical fitness after his infection with Coronavirus before the Africa Cup of Nations last January in Cameroon.
