Alexandria Sporting Club won Saturday the title of the Egyptian Golf League 2021/2022 for the third season in a row. The eighth and final round of the league was held at Madinaty Golf Club.
Alexandria Sporting collected 2,216 points from eight rounds, beating the other seven clubs in the tournament, each represented by 10 players. Gezira Sporting Club finished second with 2,117 points, followed by Palm Hills Club which scored 2,112 points.
Taymour Abu al-Khair, Vice President of the Egyptian Golf Federation and member of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, handed over the medals and the league shield to Alexandria Sporting Club.
Abu al-Khair praised the organization of the final round of the tournament, stressing the great potential of Madinaty Golf Club, saying it has the best golf courses in Egypt.
He stated that Madinaty’s golf courses have the required capabilities to host international tournaments.
Madinaty golf courses were designed according to the latest international standards and specifications by Robert Trent Jones Jr., who is one of the most famous designers of golf courses around the world. He designed more than 270 golf courses in about 40 countries, and his designs were classified among the best in the world, and managed by Troon, which is one of the best companies specialized in the management and maintenance of golf courses in the world.
