Ashraf Al-Khatib was appointed as a member of the Education Advisory Committee (EAC) of the CFA Institute — a global association of investment professionals that sets the standard for professional excellence and credentials.
The Education Advisory Committee is responsible for providing oversight and guidance to the processes by which the CFA Institute develops the competency framework, Global Body of Investment Knowledge TM (GBIK), Bodies of Knowledge (BOK), the CFA Programme, CIPM Programme, and any other program curriculum materials that are developed and administered by the CFA Institute.
The Education Advisory Committee is comprised of a diverse group of 14 members who reside in the following 10 countries — Argentina, Australia, China, Egypt, India, Italy, Portugal, Romania, the UK, and US.
Al-Khatib is a Chief Investment Officer for Private Equity at Ekuity Holding — the investment arm of Kuwait’s sovereign wealth fund, Kuwait Investment Authority, in Egypt. He is also a VP at CFA Society Egypt.
Al-Khatib earned an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid and is a CFA Charter holder. Additionally, he passed the CPA exams and holds the CFA Institute’s ESG Investing Certificate.
