Egypt expressed its condolences on Tuesday to the government and people of Sudan over the floods that recently swept a number of Sudanese states, resulting in the death and injury of dozens of citizens and significant material losses.
Egypt also expressed its full solidarity with Sudan in this painful crisis, affirming the strong fraternal and historic ties that unite the two countries and its confidence in the ability of Sudan and its brotherly people to overcome all odds.
Sudanese authorities announced on Tuesday that the floods claimed the lives of about 52 people.
Heavy rainfall that leads to flooding usually happens annually in Sudan between May and October.
