Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, met with Soha Gendy, Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs, on Monday, to discuss boosting cooperation between the two ministries.
The meeting discussed developing the technological infrastructure of the Ministry of Emigration in a way that enhances its efforts in communicating with Egyptians abroad.
Talaat said that Egyptians expatriates have a continuous desire to serve their country at all levels, adding that the ministry and its affiliates are working to use modern technologies to take care of the interests of Egyptians abroad.
Talaat said his ministry explores the possibility to allow Egyptian expats to benefit from the Digital Egypt platform, which includes 150 government services. He stressed that these services will benefit a large segment of Egyptians abroad.
Minister Gendy said that the meeting discussed the formulation of a cooperation protocol to increase bilateral cooperation, explaining that the next stage will witness fruitful coordination between the two ministries at all levels.
Both ministries aim to launch an application that combines all the incentives that various national institutions provide in one place. This platform would promote investment opportunities in Egypt for expats.
Gendy added that the meeting also dealt with ways to allow Egyptian expats to benefit from digital public services that provide a variety of documents needed for living overseas.
