The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday with the National Authority for Communications and Information Technology Regulatory in Romania.
The MoU stipulates cooperating and exchanging experiences in the areas of developing policies and organisational strategies and building human capacities in the field of digital transformation.
The signing of the MoU comes within the framework of strengthening international cooperation between Egypt and Romania in the field of telecommunications regulation, which is in line with the state’s policy to support the digital transformation process, upgrade related services, and enhance the competitive environment that attracts investment in the Egyptian telecommunications market.
The terms of the MoU also included coordinating many technical matters in the field of telecommunications regulation, exchanging experiences in matters related to developing regulatory policies and strategies, and discussing best practices in the field of emerging regulatory challenges for both countries.
Moreover, the two parties agreed on the features and implementation mechanisms of the agreement, which include conducting advisory services in the areas of human resource development and management, strategic planning, coordinating joint events — such as meetings and conferences — and designing training programs and workshops for both parties.
The MoU was signed by CEO of the NTRA Hossam Al-Gamal and Vlad Stefan Stoica — President of the National Telecommunications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority in Romania.
