Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi followed up on ongoing national projects for agricultural production and land reclamation, especially in Toshka, and the Future of Egypt project within the framework of the New Delta.
Al-Sisi met on Monday with Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President for Urban Planning; Hisham El Swefy, Head of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces; Walid Abul-Magd, Director of the National Service Projects Authority for the Armed Forces; and Essam Al-Sheikh, Director of Vehicles Department in the Armed Forces.
The meeting was also attended by Tawfiq Sami, Chairperson of the Egyptian Co. for Reclamation of Desert Land, and Bahaa El-Din El-Ghannam, Director of the Future of Egypt project.
During the meeting, the president was briefed on the progress of work in the aforementioned projects, including the infrastructure projects; roads, modern irrigation, water treatment plants, and electricity.
He directed to provide all the necessary heavy agricultural equipment and machinery at the highest level in preparation for the winter planting season and to achieve the highest possible rate of production from the agricultural area being reclaimed nationwide.
The president stressed that these projects should be implemented in a way that enhances the state’s efforts to develop the agricultural production sector in pursuit of achieving self-sufficiency in strategic crops, as well as providing thousands of job opportunities in various disciplines, and establishing productive and industrial societies.
