The minister said that Samsung’s global project in the Egyptian market is one of the most important electronic devices projects in Egypt and a success story in the national economy, as it plays an important role in deepening the national industry, increasing the proportions of the technological component in the industry and increasing operating rates, especially in Upper Egypt, stressing the ministry’s keenness to attract more international companies to invest in the Egyptian market in the field of manufacturing high-tech electronic products, which represents one of the axes of the ministry’s work plan during the next phase.
Samir stressed the ministry’s keenness to provide all aspects of support and assistance to investment projects operating in Egypt, whether local or foreign, and to solve the challenges facing these projects through the ministry and its affiliated agencies and in coordination with the various concerned ministries.
The minister pointed out that there is an opportunity to increase the company’s exports to the markets of the African continent, within the framework of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement, noting that the ratification of 43 out of a total of 55 African countries on the agreement opens new horizons for Egyptian exports to the African market, which represents a promising market for Egyptian exports from various productive sectors. Last month witnessed the conclusion of the first trade deal within the framework of the agreement between Egypt and Ghana.
For his part, Chunki Kwan, Chairperson of Samsung Egypt, stressed the company’s keenness to expand in the Egypt as it is one of the most promising markets and a main gateway for the company in the Middle East and Africa, noting that Samsung seeks to introduce new products to the Egyptian market and increase export rates to the regional markets.
He added that the company is a strong contributor to the structure of Egyptian exports and occupies a distinguished position in the list of electronic devices companies exporting to foreign markets, as the company exports 85% of its production to the markets of 50 countries in the Middle East, Arab countries and a number of countries in Africa and Europe.
