The Asian Tour Series — the first and largest international championship for golf professionals to be held in Egypt — is set to kick-off at Madinaty Golf Club on Thursday.
Madinaty Golf Club — a subsidiary of Talaat Moustafa Group — will host the tournament from 10 to 13 November, with the participation of more than 120 professional golfers from around the world, competing for a cash prize of $1.5m.
Madinaty Golf Club was chosen to host the tournament due to the exceptional quality of its courses and world-class design developed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., who is one of the most famous specialists in designing golf courses around the world, designing more than 270 award-winning golf courses in nearly 40 countries, culminating in Madinaty Golf Club winning the award for best golf course in Egypt in 2021 according to the classification of the World Golf Awards.
Madinaty’s golf courses are the latest to be established in Egypt, covering an area of 420,000 sqm and comprising 18 holes.
Since its establishment in 2020, Madinaty Golf Club has succeeded in hosting many official local and international tournaments, such as the Egypt International Amateur Championship and Madinaty Golf Championship.
Madinaty Golf Club is operated by Troon — one of the world’s best golf course management and maintenance companies and a pioneer in hosting international golf tournaments.
Furthermore, the international tournament is receiving great global attention, as it will be broadcast live to more than 60 countries around the world, and it will be broadcast exclusively in Egypt via Ontime Sports, which contributes greatly to putting Egypt on the map of golf tourism and spreading the sport in the country.
