Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with France’s Ambassador in Cairo Marc Baretti and the Executive Director of the French Development Agency in Egypt Clémence Vidal de la Blache on Wednesday to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the health sector.
Hossam Abdel Ghaffar — Official Spokesperson for the Health Ministry — explained that the meeting discussed the development projects that are being implemented in cooperation between the ministry and the French Development Agency, which started in 2017.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the minister discussed with the French side opportunities for collaboration to support primary health care services projects in Egypt in addition to discussing cooperation in projects to support hospitals with medical devices and supplies, especially intensive care units, as well as cooperation in implementing the Comprehensive Health Insurance project.
He also pointed out that the minister stressed the importance of benefiting from the collaboration between the ministry and the French Development Agency through optimal guidance of the resources and capabilities that are made available towards the desired goals of the projects that are being implemented.
Additionally, the spokesperson noted that the two sides discussed the challenges and obstacles that may face the implementation of projects that are agreed upon between the two sides within the framework of the French side’s keenness to support Egypt in sustainable development projects, especially in the field of health care.
