Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has directed the government to exploit the lands surrounding Greater Cairo.

President Al-Sisi met on Saturday with Amir Sayed Ahmed, Advisor to the President for Urban Planning, and Ahmed Al-Azazy, Head of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, to follow up on the Engineering Authority’s ongoing projects nationwide.

The meeting reviewed the land reclamation projects in Toshka, and the under-development infrastructure projects in the area, especially lifting stations, water networks, and irrigation lines.

During the meeting, Al-Sisi directed the expansion in land reclamation projects in Toshka, with the development of irrigation systems that are commensurate with the nature of the region.

Moreover, the meeting dealt with construction projects in the New Administrative Capital, especially the headquarters of the Strategic Command, as well as the banking neighbourhood in the Financial and Business District.

Ahmed Al-Azzazi briefed the president on the status of some investment projects in Damietta, including service, commercial, and investment activities, as well as modern residential complexes in the Nile River Corniche area.

The meeting also witnessed a presentation on the central retail markets in East Cairo, in addition to the ongoing development of Al-Amal City.
