Against a backdrop of a current boom in Egypt’s startup ecosystem, Mindsalike, emerging as the definitive networking platform for entrepreneurs and investors, hosted its 19th edition in Cairo.
It brought together key decision-makers at startups, scale-ups, SMEs, family businesses, multinationals, venture capitalists, and angel investors, among others. A report shared earlier this year by Wamda ranked Egypt’s startup sector first in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in terms of the funds secured in December 2022, with a total of $45.7 million in December alone.
Mindsalike’s event featured the participation of the industry’s movers and shakers spanning startups from PropTech, FinTech, EdTech, AI, VR, HealthTech and eCommerce, key industry players from Real Estate, Banking, Government, Manufacturing, Legal Services and Energy, as well as investors from Sawari Ventures, Shorooq Partners, A15, Algebra, VentureSouq, Acasia, include, Kamelizer, and much more.
Mindsalike founder, Mahamad El Tanahy, a hands-on entrepreneur and founder and board member of several diversified businesses in EdTech, Entertainment, Media, Social, Technology, and Insurance said: “I firmly believe that Egypt and the entire region is rich in talent, ambition, and potential. The key is to bring the right people together to build connections, share insights and collaborate to find disruptive solutions.”
“Our events are deliberately informal, allowing the development of genuine and meaningful connections which is key to realizing the immense potential of networking. We are proud to have so many illustrious members on board already and hope to welcome many more to our events in the near future. The regional start-up ecosystem has tremendous potential, and we are just at the beginning of this exciting journey.”
First established in 2016 to bring together creative minds and entrepreneurs to share experiences and tackle the common and unique obstacles faced by companies in this nascent sector, Mindsalike now has 5000 members in Egypt and the UAE. With events organized in Cairo, Alexandria, and Dubai, Mindsalike links up key decision-makers at startups, scale-ups, SMEs, family businesses, multinationals, venture capitalists, and angel investors, among others.
