An Egyptian ship carrying 1,000 tonnes of humanitarian aid arrived on Saturday at the Syrian port of Latakia to help those affected by the earthquake
Charge d’affaires of the Egyptian embassy in Damascus, Mahmoud Omar, said in a statement to the Syrian state television: “Latakia port received on Saturday a ship carrying the third Egyptian shipment of humanitarian aid to the brotherly Syrian people.”
The current shipment is the largest in terms of weight and contains relief, medical, and food aid, he said.
Omar added that the Egyptian people stand in solidarity with their Syrian brothers in facing the humanitarian plight caused by the earthquake, affirming the long-standing historical ties between the two brotherly peoples.
