FEI is keen on communicating with industrial community, institutional sector

Chairperson of Chamber of Food Industries at Federation of Egyptian Industries Ashraf El-Gazayerli stated that it is keen to continue the approach of effective communication between the Chamber and its strategic partners, agencies, bodies and decision-makers for the benefit of the national industry and enhancing its competitiveness at the local and international levels.

El-Gazayerli said that achieving many positive results through presenting challenges, cooperation, direct coordination, and exchanging views between the Chamber, representing the food industry sector and various parties, aims to provide support and remove obstacles and challenges to achieve the desired growth rates.

He further noted that the vision of the National Food Safety Authority is in line with the current approach of the Chamber of Food Industries in providing necessary technical support to help factories comply with food safety requirements.

Besides, the Chamber will keep supporting many files at the level of the supply chain namely sorting and packing, collection centers and slaughterhouses…etc.

For his part, Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority Tarek El Houby said that the cooperation with the Chamber of Food Industries represents the most important axes of the authority’s strategy and vision, in addition to being an active player in the regional control arena and reaching it to the world.

El Houby pointed out that the authority’s strategy aims to expand the base of food establishments registered with it, attract small and medium-sized entities to the official system for food safety, and develop human element and the existence of an organizational structure in addition to digital transformation. Additionally, the authority began launching the first website on 1 March, in preparation for providing all services in an efficient manner in preparation for providing all services online, including applying to register with the authority and completing all procedures digitally.

He concluded: “We hope that the authority will become an entity that enjoys governance, transparency and integrity, to send a message of confidence to Egyptian consumers and foreign importers.”
