The Housing and Development Bank (HDB) has revealed that it attracted about 280 new clients in the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) sector in 2022, with finance amounting to about EGP 1bn.
The value of the actual growth achieved in the bank’s SMEs portfolio in 2022 amounted to about EGP 1.7bn, which contributed to achieving the percentage set by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) of 25% of the net credit portfolio, including 11% for small enterprises.
A report of the bank’s board of directors revealed the growth of direct balances for the small enterprises sector, which is targeted at a value of EGP 1bn in 2022, and the target was achieved by 125%.
The bank explained that the indirect balances achieved a growth of EGP 300m, and the target was achieved by about 100%.
Additionally, HDB revealed that its deposit portfolio grew by 42% to EGP 89.5bn by the end of 2022, compared to about EGP 63bn at the end of 2021, an increase of EGP 26.5bn.
It indicated that the individual deposits portfolio increased by 21.36%, to record EGP 27.2bn at the end of 2022, compared to EGP 22.4bn in 2021. The corporate deposits portfolio witnessed a growth of about 53.9%, recording EGP 62.2bn, compared to about EGP 40.5bn.
The bank added that the credit cards issued for its part increased by 54% to reach 40,000 cards by the end of 2022, with a usage rate of EGP 83m. It explained that the value of the issued credit limits grew by 48%, at a value of EGP 117m, bringing the total credit limits to EGP 360m , compared to EGP 243m at the end of 2021.
It pointed out an increase in the number of subscribers to the internet banking service by 80% by the end of 2022, reaching 96,600 subscribers, compared to 53,700 subscribers by the end of 2021, an increase of 39,000 subscribers.
The bank said that the number of those activating this service increased by 124% to 29,600 at the end of 2022, compared to 13,200 in 2021.
It added that the number of subscribers to the Floosy Phone wallet increased by 6% to reach 305,000 wallets at the end of 2022, with an increase of 17,600 new wallets, compared to 287,500 in 2021.
It explained that the number of Floosy Phone wallet service operators achieved a growth of 74% at the end of 2022.
