Baaz platform considers opening office in Egypt

Musab Shrari, CEO of Baaz platform for social communication, said that the company is considering opening an office in Egypt during the coming period, especially since the Egyptian market is one of the most important markets for the company in the Arab region due to its growth opportunities and the number of Internet users.

He added, during a round table held by the company yesterday with a limited number of journalists, that the Baaz platform has managed to attract about 6 million Arab users so far, considering that Baaz is seen as the first Arab social networking platform.

He explained that Egypt accounts for approximately 60% of the number of users of the platform so far, which makes it the largest market for the platform in terms of the number of active users.

He said that the business model of the Baaz platform is very similar to groups on the Facebook platform, as it relies on launching groupings with similar interests in content, which makes the members of one group agree in interests.

Baaz also provides audio rooms, where a number of users gather to hold discussions on an almost daily basis about a number of common interests of group members. For example, if the group is interested in Arabic literature, a voice chat room is created in the name of Arabic literature, which discusses what is related to this part.

He explained that the platform will focus in the coming period on attracting content makers and influencers in the Arab world, to refine the content on the Baaz platform and increase the spread of the platform.

Sharayri revealed that the company is negotiating a financing round during the third quarter of this year, to support its expansion plans.

He revealed the company’s recent launch of a financial rewards program that enables its users to achieve financial returns by inviting them to their friends, which helped in the growth of communities on the platform, especially with Baaz providing features such as audio rooms and community support tools to enhance valuable Arabic content for the Arab user to enjoy. The program aims in its first phase To encourage users to create their communities, which will be the main pillar in the next stage for enriching content and sharing financial returns.

In this regard, Sharayri indicated, “During the holy month of Ramadan, we witnessed a great growth in the Egyptian market, huge numbers of new Egyptian communities on the platform, and a remarkable demand for users on these communities, as we were one of the most downloaded platforms in the category of social media applications.”

Baaz seeks to be the largest gathering of digital Arab communities on the Internet, providing its users with a variety of modern, advanced and innovative tools, which include “audio rooms”, “live broadcasts” and “video and audio calls”, to enable its users to form their communities and create content. values, and engage in genuine and constructive discussions.
