Elsayed Elkosayer, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, said that 4.2 million tonnes of fodder supplies were released during the period from 16 October 2022 to 27 April 2023, including 3.1 million tonnes of corn, 1.1 million tonnes of soybeans and feed additives, with a total value of $2bn.
He affirmed that the release of fodder requirements is continuing in coordination with the Central Bank, with the aim of providing quantities in the markets of corn and soy, which are the basic ingredients for poultry feed, as well as farm animals.
He explained that during the period from 19 to 27 April 2023, 211,000 tonnes of corn and soybeans were released, at a value of $99m.
He added that the release included 163,000 tonnes of corn at a value of $59m and 48,000 tonnes of soybeans at a value of $36m, as well as feed additives worth $4m.
