3 Egyptian teams qualify to final stage of Huawei Global Competition in China

Three Egyptian teams have qualified to the final stage of the Huawei International Competition for Information and Communication Technology, which will be held in Shenzhen, China, from May 24 to 27, after winning for the fourth time in a row in the competitions that included teams of talented students from 10 countries at the level of North Africa. The competition aims to develop the technological and informational capabilities of young people and prepare a generation of talents to contribute to building the digital economy.

The three teams include two from Network Track, and a team from Cloud Track (cloud computing) representing Cairo, Alexandria, Sohag, Assiut, Tanta, Mansoura, Zagazig, and El Shorouk universities. The three teams, consisting of nine students, were able to reach the finals in China, achieving victory in all the stages they competed in at the level of Africa and the local competitions among 500 Egyptian students. The students participating in the competition were provided with specialized training and qualification courses by Huawei experts and in cooperation With many university professors and academic supervisors.

Commenting on this occasion, Jim Liu, executive director of Huawei Egypt, congratulated the three winning teams, wishing them success in the final competitions held in China. “We at Huawei seek to nurture technical talents and provide them with the necessary modern technological skills, to contribute to building a sustainable digital future, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030,” he said.

Liu also explained that the Huawei International Competition for Information and Communication Technology is one of the most powerful international competitions in the field of technology. He highlighted Huawei’s keenness on cooperating with all Egyptian government institutions and universities to discover, support and prepare technical talents to become future leaders by relying on information and communication technology.

Asmaa Serageldin, executive director of Huawei Egypt Academy, stressed that the company is in the process of preparing a training camp for students who qualify for the global competition to support their capabilities and prepare them for global competition, as the training courses focus on modern technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data storage, big data, security, and Datacom and WLAN.
