Elsayed Elkosayer, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, has announced the release of 308,000 tonnes of corn and soybeans, worth $134m, from Egyptian ports from 4 to 11 May, in coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt.
This comes within the framework of implementing the directives of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, regarding following up on the release of production requirements.
Al-Qusayr explained that the release included 251,000 tonnes of corn, at a value of $90m, and 57,000 tonnes of soybeans, at a value of $43m, in addition to feed additives worth $1.4m, making the total fodder released from 16 October 2022 to 11 May 2023 4.7 million tonnes.
Al-Qusayr confirmed that the release aims to provide fair quantities in the market of corn and soy, which are the basic ingredients for poultry feed as well as farm animals, pointing out that there is continuous follow-up and full coordination with CBE and the banking system with the support of the Prime Minister personally, to release appropriate quantities of corn and soy beans, and feed additives from Egyptian ports.
