Public Enterprise Minister discusses cooperation with Aluminium Bahrain

Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Public Enterprise Sector, has met with Chairperson of Aluminium Bahrain Sheikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa to discuss new investment opportunities in the aluminum industry.

The meeting was attended by Ali Al-Baqali, the CEO of Aluminium Bahrain, and the Chairperson of Misr Aluminum.

During the meeting, Esmat stressed the depth of the relations and extended partnership between Egypt and the Kingdom of Bahrain in various fields, especially the trend towards more integration and access to broader horizons of economic partnership between the two brotherly countries.

He reviewed the work strategy which was approved as it matches the state ownership policy document to support and empower the private sector and increase its contribution to the national economy, and openness to strengthening partnership areas between the public business sector companies affiliated with the ministry and the public sector and local and foreign private investment, especially Arab investment, while welcoming all partnership methods.

Esmat indicated that a detailed map of the investment opportunities available to the companies affiliated with the Ministry has been prepared in terms of type of activity, geographical location, investment volume, and an informational study for each project. The map would also include what has been accomplished over the past few years in infrastructure projects.

For his part, Sheikh Daij praised the investment climate and the trend towards supporting investors in Egypt. He highlighted the work to complete the studies on the partnership between Alba and the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries in the fields related to the aluminum industry, especially the production of bauxite as a raw material the industry is reliant on.
