Egypt is set to host its first-ever air show in May 2023 at El-Alamein International Airport, near Alexandria, the central hub of Egypt’s Mediterranean coastline. Dubbed “Egypt Air Show 2024,” the event is supported by the Ministry of Defence, Egypt Air Force, and the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
Egypt Air Show will cover the latest in defence, commercial and space technologies.
It will feature a wide range of activities and events, including static and flying displays of aircraft, seminars, and workshops. In addition, the exhibition floor will be filled with the latest military products and services.
Commander of the Egyptian Air Force, Mahmoud Fouad Abdel-Gawad, expressed Egypt’s interest in receiving the most famous pioneers in the aforementioned. The Egypt Air Show 2024 aims to foster greater collaboration between Egypt and other countries around the world in the fields of military, commercial, and private aircraft manufacturing, as well as related equipment and space technology, according to Abdel-Gawad.
According to Mohamed Abbas Helmy, the Minister of Civil Aviation, the exhibition offers an excellent opportunity to establish cooperative relationships and stay up-to-date on the latest developments in various fields of modern technology. The minister further hoped that the first edition of the exhibition would demonstrate the Egyptian Armed Forces’ capabilities.
CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency, Sherif Mohamed Sedky, said he would present a clear strategy to benefit from space science and technology in support of various development fields. Sedky further stressed the necessity of Egypt’s possession of space technology to attain the Egyptian State’s goals of achieving sustainable development.
CEO and Founder of Arabian World Events (AWE), Thomas Gaunt, said the exhibition would witness high turnout from regional and international institutions in its first session. He expects that over 250 local, regional, and international companies and institutions will participate in the exhibition.
The Egypt Air Show in 2024 will feature the latest aircraft on display at El Alamein International Airport, along with exciting air shows.
Egypt is also scheduled to host the third edition of the Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX) on December 4-7, 2023. The expo will showcase the latest military technology, equipment, and systems across land, sea, and air, with over 35,000 military and defense industry visitors. The third edition of EDEX will be organized by Arabian World Events, with the full support of the Egyptian Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Military Production.
