The Council of the Arab League has called for urgent Arab action through visits, contacts, and sending high-level joint and bilateral messages to the Security Council, its members, and international decision-making centers. These contacts are aimed at implementing international resolutions related to the cessation of Israeli aggressions in all their forms against the Palestinian people and providing international protection to them.

The council also called for the implementation of the Security Council resolutions and the UN General Assembly resolution and for holding Israel, the occupying power, responsible for the consequences of its aggression against the Palestinian people. This was stated in a resolution of the Council of the Arab League, which held an extraordinary session chaired by Egypt at the headquarters of the Arab League to discuss ways to stop the ongoing and escalating Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people throughout Palestinian cities, camps, and villages. This includes the continuous Israeli aggression on the city and camp of Jenin and other areas in the occupied West Bank.

The council said in a resolution at the end of its work that if the Security Council is unable to fulfill its role and assume its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security, it will go to the UN General Assembly to hold a resumed session on the tenth emergency special session of the General Assembly under the title of “Uniting for Peace”.

The council called for the issuance of the necessary resolutions to put an end to the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, implement the relevant UN resolutions on the international protection of the Palestinian people, and grant the state of Palestine full membership in the UN.

It called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to fulfill its responsibilities under the Rome Statute establishing its work with regard to completing the criminal investigation of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israel against the defenseless Palestinian people. The council also called on the court to study all options through which it can exercise its jurisdiction in the territory of the occupied state of Palestine and complete the investigation, and provide all the human and material possibilities for this investigation and give it the necessary priority.

The council called on the High Contracting Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention to shoulder their responsibilities and ensure respect for and enforcement of the convention in the territory of the occupied state of Palestine, including East Jerusalem, by halting Israeli crimes and violations of international humanitarian and human rights law.

“The international community has to put pressure on Israel to allow the ongoing fact-finding committee established by the human rights council to enter the territory of the occupied state of Palestine to exercise its mandate to investigate the facts about Israeli crimes and violations committed in the Occupied Palestinian territory.” the council stated.

It called on the committee to follow up on all Israeli violations and crimes within its mandate and submit its reports and recommendations in this regard.

The council affirmed support for all the steps, measures, and decisions taken by the Palestinian leadership to confront the ongoing Israeli aggressions against the Palestinian people, including the Israeli aggression against the city and the Jenin Camp.

The Council of the Arab League affirmed the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the entire Arab nation, and supported the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, foremost of which is their right to self-determination, return, and compensation for Palestinian refugees. It emphasized their right to embody an independent and sovereign state of Palestine on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as well as the right of the Palestinian people to legitimate self-defense in the face of Israeli aggression targeting their lives, holy sites, and property.
