Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Elsayed Elkosayer announced the release of 185,000 tonnes of fodder supplies, “corn and soybeans”, at a value of about $100m during the period from 23 June to 6 July, from Egyptian ports.
He said on Monday that the released goods included 107,000 tonnes of corn worth about $39m, 78,000 tonnes of soybeans worth about $59m, and feed additives worth about $2m.
The total released fodder supplies reached 6.5 million tonnes worth $3bn from 16 October 2022 to 6 July 2023, including 4.5 million tonnes of corn, 2 million tonnes of soybeans and feed additives.
He noted that there is continuous follow-up and full coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt, with the support of the Prime Minister, to release appropriate quantities of corn, soybeans, and feed additives from Egyptian ports to support the poultry industry.
