Egypt’s Health Minister inspects facilities in Qena and Luxor

Egypt’s Minister of Health and Population, Khaled Abdel Ghaffar; inspected on Monday, the health facilities in the governorates of Qena and Luxor, to follow up on the work system on the ground, and to follow up on work and performance indicators within the “100 Million Health” campaign.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the minister started his field tour from Qena by inspecting the medical convoy of the “100 Million Health” campaign in the village of Al-Baraka in the Nagaa Hammadi district.

Abdel Ghaffar indicated that the minister was keen to be reassured about the progress of work and the rates of frequencies of citizens to receive the campaign services, as well as reassurance about the availability of sufficient stocks of the necessary medical supplies, praising the performance indicators within the campaign work system in the governorate.

During his visit, the Minister of Health directed the speedy completion of the development work of Nagaa Hammadi General Hospital in Qena, on an area of 3,800 square meters.

Moreover, the minister was briefed on the executive position of the works, as 80% of the work in the hospital building, which includes its replacement and renovation, has been completed.

According to the spokesperson of the Health Ministry, the hospital has a capacity of 173 beds (reception and emergency, isolation, internal, recovery and preparation, intensive care), 5 operating rooms, and 30 incubators for premature babies. He also stressed that the hospital is a great addition to the health system to serve the people of Qena Governorate.
