UAE’s EDGE, one of the world’s leading advanced technology and defence groups, has partnered with Brazilian turbine engine developer Turbomachine to develop next-generation engines for UAVs and missiles.

The strategic agreement will see the two companies work closely together on the research, innovation, engineering and development of gas turbine engines and plasma-assisted combustion solutions.

The goal is to create more powerful and efficient engines that can meet the needs of EDGE’s growing portfolio of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and missiles.

“This partnership is a major step forward for EDGE in our mission to advance aerospace technology,” said Hamad Al Marar, President of EDGE’s Missiles and Weapons cluster. “Together with Turbomachine, we will develop cutting-edge engines that will give us a significant edge in the defence market.”

Alberto Carlos Pereira Filho, CEO/Founder of Turbomachine, said: “We are excited to partner with EDGE on this important project. Our collaboration will combine our respective strengths in research and development, engineering, and manufacturing to create world-class engines that will set new standards for performance and efficiency.”

The agreement is part of EDGE’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its technological capabilities and position itself as a leading player in the global aerospace and defence industry. The company has also recently announced partnerships with other leading international companies, such as Leonardo of Italy and Thales of France.

This partnership with Turbomachine is a significant milestone for EDGE and reaffirms its commitment to innovation and technological excellence. The new engines that will be developed under this agreement will give EDGE a competitive edge in the global defence market and help to protect the UAE’s national security.
