Guangzhou – Zhang Sihong, Vice President of the China Foreign Trade Center and supervisor of Canton Fair, has invited Egyptian businesspeople and companies to participate extensively and effectively in the 134th edition of the Canton Fair, which will be held in Guangzhou, China, next autumn.
He said that the China Import and Export Fair, which has been held since 1957 and is held twice annually in spring and autumn. It is the largest comprehensive trading event in China and boasts the largest buyer attendance. The fair witnessed the participation of 900 businessmen and representatives of Egyptian companies in the exhibition in its 133rd edition.
Sihong noted that 2,200 participants and buyers from Egypt have participated virtually, pointed out that the exhibition currently has more than 180 partners around the world, including Egyptian Businessmen Association, the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce, and Alexandria Business Association. Moreover, half of the exhibition’s partners in general are from the member states of the Belt and Road Initiative, including Egypt.
He added that this year’s exhibition will witness a focus and expansion in displaying new products, especially green products, and the number of companies represented in the exhibition will increase, as well as, meetings and acquaintance forums between companies will also increase during the exhibition.
Sihong disclosed that the best services would be provided to the Egyptian participants in the upcoming edition of the exhibition, as the exhibition management desires to increase cooperation with Egypt in particular, and the various countries of the Silk Road, with the aim of increasing the benefits that accrue to the peoples of these countries, as well as promoting new Chinese products.
The successive editions of the exhibition add many ideas and pavilions, and there will be a focus on clean energy, technology, toys, maternity products and other market needs, according to Sihong.
The last edition of the exhibition last spring witnessed the participation of buyers from 229 countries and regions, including 129,000 in Guangzhou, and 390,000 online. Among the most prominent Egyptian products that showcased in that edition were textiles, home appliances, and health care products.
