The National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) and Huawei organized a workshop on cybersecurity for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Egypt. The workshop, titled “Cybersecurity is Everyone’s Responsibility,” was held under the auspices of the Egyptian Supreme Cybersecurity Council (ESCC).
The workshop highlighted the risks of cyber threats to SMEs and discussed strategies for protecting against them. Speakers from NTRA, EG-CERT, and Huawei Egypt shared their expertise on best practices and the latest solutions in cybersecurity.
Ahmed Abdel Hafez, Chair of ESCC’s Executive Bureau and NTRA Vice President for Cybersecurity Affairs said that attention to information security and cybersecurity is a necessity for all businesses, institutions, and the state.
He stressed the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors to protect Egypt’s cyberspace.
Samir Gaber, Head of the Cyberattack Monitoring and Early Warning System Department at EG-CERT, said that the cooperation with Huawei Egypt is a milestone towards achieving the goal of accelerating the pace of secure digital transformation in Egypt.
He added that the workshop will help to raise awareness of cybersecurity among SMEs and enhance the sense of confidence and security in the digital world.
Mohamed Madkour, Chief Cybersecurity Officer at Huawei Egypt, said that Huawei is committed to openness and cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.
He explained that the company aims to showcase its expertise on best practices and the latest solutions in cybersecurity to help SMEs protect themselves from cyber threats.
The workshop was attended by a group of experts from NTRA, EG-CERT, and Huawei Egypt. It is part of a series of workshops that the ESCC is organizing to raise awareness of cybersecurity among businesses and individuals in Egypt.
