The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs blamed on Wednesday the Israeli government for the consequences of the ongoing escalation, calling on the US administration to exert real pressure on Israel to restrain settlers and their armed organizations.
In a press statement, the ministry called on the countries that support the two-state solution to immediately recognize the state of Palestine and support the Palestinian efforts to obtain full membership in the United Nations, and take the necessary political and legal measures to protect this solution, in compliance with international law, UN resolutions, and international peace references.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned the violations of the occupation forces, settler militias, and their armed elements against Palestinians, their land, homes, vehicles, property, and shrines.
It said that Israel’s expansionist and racist colonial policy denies the existence of the Palestinian people and their just and legitimate national rights recognized by international legitimacy, and falls within the framework of the occupation government’s plans aimed at annexing the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and completely separating it from the Gaza Strip.
The Ministry pointed to the Palestinian people paying high political prices at the political level, and deepening the policy of “paying the price” at the life and field levels, in an attempt to break the will of steadfastness and self-defense of the Palestinian people.
The ministry stated that the main goal of the escalation in violations and crimes that has come to dominate the scene of the life of the Palestinian citizen is to prevent the embodiment of the Palestinian state on the ground, as the pillars of the ruling right-wing Israeli coalition boast about, and as expressed by the member of the Israeli Knesset from the extremist party “religious Zionism” Zvi Scott.
