As the new academic year approaches, e-commerce platforms are offering attractive discounts and deals for customers looking for school supplies, fashion, home appliances, and electronic devices. Some of the platforms that have launched their back-to-school campaigns are Jumia and Noon, which are competing to provide the best prices and services for their customers.
Jumia’s back-to-school campaign will run from 28 August to 10 September, according to Manal Youssef, Head of the Public Relations and Communications Sector. She said that the platform will offer free shipping, discount coupons, and installment offers for up to 12 months with several banks. The discounts will range from 25% to 40% on various products, including local products under the “Buy Egyptian with Pride” initiative. Jumia will also feature one-day offers that change daily and offer large discounts for a limited time.
Noon’s back-to-school campaign started last week and will end on 4 September, with discounts of up to 70% on some products. The platform offers discounts of up to 70% on fashion, stationery, and educational toys, 40% on backpacks, and 35% on electronic devices. Noon also offers discounts of up to 65% on sandwich makers, juicers, and blenders. Customers can benefit from interest-free installment offers for up to 15 months with CIB noon card holders, or with ValU over 6 months. Other banks such as Banque Misr, Commercial International Bank, and NBE also offer interest-free installments for their credit card holders.
Both platforms aim to provide a convenient and safe shopping experience for their customers during the back-to-school season, which is one of the busiest times of the year for online shopping.
