Egypt’s ICT Minister visits US to boost cooperation, investment

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, left Cairo today for a four-day visit to the United States of America, where he will meet with several officials of major international companies in the fields of communications and information technology. The visit aims to enhance cooperation between Egypt and the US, transfer knowledge in related fields, and showcase the investment opportunities in the Egyptian ICT sector.

Talaat will also meet with members of the US Congress to discuss ways to open new horizons of cooperation between the two countries in the ICT fields, and to highlight the developments taking place in the Egyptian ICT sector. He will also meet with several Egyptian businessmen and experts in the US who specialize in communications, information technology, and the electronics industry, to explore ways to benefit from their expertise in the Egyptian ICT sector.

Talaat is scheduled to hold several meetings with members of the American Chamber of Commerce, and officials of major American institutions and companies in the ICT fields, to discuss opportunities for cooperation and attract new investments to the Egyptian market in the fields of communications infrastructure, electronics design and manufacturing, outsourcing, research and development, cyber security, digital capacity building, and other related fields.
