BP Egypt has announced that Wail Shaheen will be the new Vice President of the company, starting from 1 November 2023.
Wail is a reservoir engineer with 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He has held various technical, commercial, and leadership roles in different countries, such as Canada, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Oman, Trinidad and Tobago, and the USA. He has been involved in some of BP’s major projects, such as the Cypre project in Trinidad and Tobago, the Tangguh Train 3 project in Indonesia, and the Khazzan/Ghazir project in Oman. Wail has also played a key role in developing and leading BP’s global talent pool in exploration and petroleum engineering.
Shaheen expressed his enthusiasm for his new position: “I’m thrilled to be back in Egypt, and I look forward to advancing BP’s investments and projects in Egypt to new heights, including exploring new opportunities in sustainable energy to support Egypt’s energy transition plans.”
