Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has emphasised that the only way to achieve a lasting solution to the Palestinian issue is through diplomatic efforts that lead to a two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

In his speech during an “inspection of war” operation on Wednesday, the president said that Gaza is suffering from a lack of fuel, water, and medical supplies and that Egypt is working to ease the plight of the people in the Strip.

He added that his country is playing a constructive role in de-escalating the situation in Gaza, stopping the fire, and reducing the bloodshed.

“The Egyptian army’s sole objective is to safeguard Egypt and its national security,” Al-Sisi said, addressing some unnamed parties, “You should not let delusions of power push you to make reckless decisions.”

During the event, Major General Sherif Al-Araishi, the commander of the Third Field Army, said that the army was fully prepared to defend the nation wherever they were ordered to go and that they had reached the highest level of combat readiness.

Al-Araishi stated that no one can threaten the interests or capabilities of Egypt and that Egypt’s destiny is to live in a region full of turmoil and challenges.

He also highlighted the qualitative shift in the organization, training, and armament of the Egyptian army in recent years, which has increased its strength and efficiency.
