The Chamber of Information Technology and Telecommunications (CIT) participated in the second edition of the Annual International Manufacturing Convention and Exhibition (IMCE), which was held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi from 28 to 30 October 2023. The event was organised by the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) and aimed to promote the digital transformation of the industrial sector.
The CIT’s pavilion, supported by the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), featured nine companies that offered various solutions to industrial challenges, such as predictive maintenance, digitizing production lines, warehouse management, and tracking movements inside industrial facilities.
The CIT also announced the winners of the ManuTech Challenge, a competition that invited entrepreneurs, owners of technological startups, and innovators to present effective technological solutions to real industrial problems. The challenge was launched by the CIT in cooperation with the Business Egypt Programme, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the participation of UNTAP Technologies as an implementer.
The challenge received 300 applications from 46 teams, comprising more than 200 participants and guided by about 30 business mentors. The 10 finalists had the opportunity to showcase their projects at the exhibition and network with potential sponsors and partners. The top three winners were nfrti X, Industry Run, and Autoinspecta, who received cash prizes and recognition for their innovative solutions.
The ManuTech Challenge is one of the initiatives that the CIT undertakes to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the information technology sector and to support the development of the Egyptian industry.
