Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received a phone call from Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, to exchange their perspectives on the recent Israeli military escalation in the Gaza Strip.
During the conversation, President Al-Sisi emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire to halt the unprecedented suffering experienced by the people of Gaza.
He also highlighted Egypt’s ongoing efforts to coordinate aid for the region and facilitate communication with all relevant parties to overcome any obstacles hindering the delivery of essential humanitarian assistance.
Prime Minister Trudeau expressed his gratitude for these efforts and reaffirmed Canada’s readiness to increase its contribution to humanitarian relief initiatives.
Both leaders jointly stressed the importance of ensuring the smooth flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza to alleviate the plight of its residents. Simultaneously, they underscored the necessity of reviving the political process aimed at achieving a two-state solution.
