Three people, including two children, were killed and nearly 100 others injured in a missile attack on the city of Sevastopol on Sunday. City governor Mikhail Razvozhayev reported that the city’s healthcare system has been fully mobilized in response to the incident.

The Russian Defence Ministry stated that the attack occurred at approximately 12:15 p.m. local time and involved the use of U.S.-supplied ATACMS tactical missiles equipped with cluster warheads. The ministry claims that four of the missiles were intercepted, while a fifth was diverted from its path by air defence systems, causing its warhead to detonate in the air above the city.

President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the attack, according to Governor Razvozhayev. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin is in close contact with government officials and healthcare providers in the aftermath of the attack. Peskov also emphasized that the president’s priority is to ensure that all necessary assistance is provided to the victims.
