Public Enterprises Minister aims to strengthen partnerships with private sector, foreign investors

Mohamed Shimy, the Minister of Public Enterprises Sector, received Mariam Khalifa Al Kaabi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Egypt and the Permanent Representative to the Arab League. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities to enhance cooperation, attended by Sami Al Noqbi, Head of the Economic Affairs Section at the UAE Embassy in Cairo, and several senior ministry officials.

Shimy emphasized the special nature of Egyptian-UAE relations, noting the strong, brotherly, and historical ties between the two countries and peoples. He expressed a keen interest in strengthening and deepening cooperation across various fields.

The minister highlighted that the portfolio of companies under the ministry includes significant and vital industrial entities. Numerous modernization and development projects are being implemented in various sectors to grow these industries, localize modern technology, deepen local manufacturing, and achieve added value.

Shimy presented many investment opportunities available within the ministry’s companies across multiple sectors and activities. He confirmed the ministry’s openness to enhancing partnerships with the private sector and local and foreign investors, in line with the State Ownership Policy Document. He welcomed various types of partnerships that benefit all parties and emphasized the government’s commitment to overcoming any obstacles investors might face and facilitating the implementation of their projects.

Al Kaabi pointed out that Egypt has the potential to be an attractive investment destination with its strategic geographical location. She highlighted the interest of many UAE companies in enhancing their investments and expanding their operations in Egypt.
