Representatives from Russia and China will gather in Guangdong and Heilongjiang Provinces from August 8-9 to discuss economic and investment opportunities at a roadshow for the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) 2024. TV BRICS International Media Network is a media partner for the event.

The visiting session, titled “Prospects for Interregional Cooperation between the Russian Far East and Guangdong and Heilongjiang Provinces,” will feature a delegation from Russia’s Far East, including government officials and business leaders.

“Cooperation between Russia and China covers a large number of areas, including the economy, trade and investment, and it opens up new horizons for doing business,” said Anatoly Bobrakov, Deputy Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.

The delegation will also visit businesses in Guangdong Province to further explore potential areas of collaboration.

“Field sessions of the Eastern Economic Forum play a big role in strengthening partnership, friendly ties between Russian and foreign entrepreneurs, [and] reveal the potential of the Far East as a platform for productive interaction between countries,” said Igor Pavlov, Director of the Eastern Economic Forum.

The roadshow comes ahead of the main EEF event, which will be held in Vladivostok from September 3-6. The EEF, which has been held annually since 2015, is considered a key platform for developing cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

“This year’s main theme is ‘The Far East in 2030. Joining Efforts, Creating Opportunities,’” said Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the President of Russia. “In particular, the focus will be on the development of innovative technologies, transport and energy.”

The EEF in Vladivostok will offer a comprehensive programme, including business events, cultural experiences, and sporting activities. The Far Eastern Street exhibition will showcase the culture of the region’s diverse peoples and participating countries. The EEF Games will feature competitions in hockey, figure skating, curling, and yachting.

The forum attracted over 7,000 participants from 62 countries last year, including 2,400 business representatives. The largest delegations came from China, India, Myanmar, the Philippines and Laos.
